Movie preview: “Robocop”

Rated: PG-13 for intense sequences of action including frenetic gun violence throughout, brief strong language, sensuality and some drug material.

Running time: 1 hr 58 min

Cast: Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Michael Keaton, Jackie Earle Haley

Plot: The year is 2028. For years, cutting edge robotics company OmniCorp has been supplying the military with drones for use overseas, though their repeated attempts to bring the technology to the U.S. has meet with fierce resistance. When upstanding Detroit cop Alex Murphy is grievously wounded in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance to innovate by transforming Murphy into a prototype half-man/half-robot crime-fighter. The company envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.
