Driver hurt in Borden truck crash

The driver of a dump truck was taken by medical helicopter to University of Louisville Hospital on Thursday after being injured in a single-vehicle crash in Borden shortly after 2 p.m.

According to emergency officials at the scene, the truck was coming down a steep hill when it overturned at the bottom of the intersection of Greenville-Borden and Martinsburg roads. The truck was hauling a large load of burnt house scrap and officials said they believe the truck being overloaded may have contributed to it overturning.

The driver of the truck, who was not immediately identified, was trapped under the dashboard and had to be extricated from the vehicle. He suffered arm and leg injuries, but was concious and able to talk with police during the extrication.
