CLARKSVILLE

New meeting date scheduled

The Clarksville Redevelopment Commission meeting scheduled from Friday, July 5, has been rescheduled for Monday, July 8, at 7 p.m. 

The meeting will be held in its normal location, which is the executive conference room on the second floor of the Clarksville Municipal Center Administration Building, 2000 Broadway, Clarksville. 

 

JEFFERSONVILLE

Jeff class of ‘64 luncheon

The Jeffersonville High School Class of 1964 will gather for their monthly luncheon at noon Friday, June 14, 505 Marriott Drive, Clarksville.

 

Weight loss seminar coming up

Clark Memorial Hospital offers a Bariatric Weight Loss Program geared to helping people lose the weight and gain a healthier lifestyle. The free seminar is 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 13 at Clark Memorial Hospital, 1220 Missouri Ave., Jeffersonville

Dr. Daniel MacMillan, Board Certified General Surgeon with Surgical Associates Southern Indiana, leads the free seminars and will discuss obesity and the laparoscopic procedure. Carolyn McKee, RN, bariatric coordinator, will talk about the benefits of the free comprehensive follow-up program and cover some basic insurance information.

Church to hold four-day seminar

Pastors Ric and Debbie Catlett are hosting a four-day seminar, June 18 through June 21, at Covenant Life Church, 2326 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville. The event will begin on Tuesday evening, June 18, with a youth night then nightly on the each of the following three nights. There will also be day sessions on June 20 and 21

This year’s theme is again "The Awakening." Speakers will include Apostle Dan Caldwell, Apostle Greg Howse, Apostle Michael Posey, Prophetess Michelle McClain, Prophet Marqus Beaver, Prophet Kevin Leal, and Prophetic Psalmist/Pastor Phil Tarver. The youth night speaker is Louis Wimbley.

NEW ALBANY

Covered Bridge discussion at library

Andy Rebman, of the Indiana Covered Bridge Society, will be coming to the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, to discuss the society’s efforts in preserving Indiana’s covered bridges.

This is an excellent opportunity for bridge enthusiasts or anyone interested in our state’s history, to learn more about the history and preservation of Indiana’s covered bridges.

The event will be held in the library’s Strassweg Auditorium. The event is free and no registration is required.

Culbertson Baptist bible school

Culbertson Baptist Church, 4007 Grant Line Road, New Albany, is making big plans for Bible School, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. nightly, June 17 through 21 in the Family Life Center of the church. All children of the community, pre-K through grade five, are invited to attend.

The theme will be “Welcome to Athens: Paul’s Dangerous Journey to Share the Truth.” Boys and girls will be divided into tribes, each with an adult tribal leader, and will have Bible study and storytime in their groups. Each night, they will also visit the marketplace for crafts, games and food.

 

SELLERSBURG

Fathers Day event at library

Come to the Sellersburg Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, to celebrate Father’s Day. Fathers and sons can celebrate Father’s Day together by making shields and then watching the Batman/Superman movies.

Participants are encouraged to bring uncles, brothers or grandpas.
