Council to hold work session
The Jeffersonville City Council will hold a public workshop at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27. The meeting will be held in the common council’s chambers at City Hall, 500 Quartermaster Court, in Jeffersonville.
Benefit to honor Ethan Bennett
A benefit for the Ethan Bennett Memorial Scholarship Fund, being administered by the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Lakeside Reflections, 617 Brown Forman Road, Jeffersonville. The night will have live music, a silent auction, face painting, massages, shoe shines and more. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
Proceeds will go to the Ethan Bennett Memorial Scholarship Fund to help fellow students pursue higher education.
Maundy Thursday services scheduled
Greater Jeffersonville/Clarksville Ministry Cluster is sponsoring a Maundy Thursday service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at Park Memorial United Methodist Church, 1820 East Park Place, Jeffersonville.
Witness the meaning of the Body of Christ with a reenactment of The Last Supper.
K of C hosting fish fry
The Knights of Columbus, 225 E. Market St., Jeffersonville, will sponsor a fish fry from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
The menu of fish, fries, macaroni and cheese, slaw and a beverage is $8. Children 6 and under eat for free. Carry-outs are available. Call 812-283-3134 for orders.

Angry Birds program set
Come make your own furious and destructive “bitty-sized” Angry Bird at the Crafty Angry Birds program at the Clarksville Branch Library, 1312 Eastern Blvd., Clarksville.
This program will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Thursday, March 28, at the library. Participants will make their own angry birds and pigs and, of course, test creations against structures hiding those pesky pigs. This program is for ages 13 to 18, and registration is required. Hidden Hill opens season with kite event
Hidden Hill Nursery and Sculpture Garden, 1011 Utica-Charlestown Road in Jeffersonville, will celebrate the opening of a new season with its annual Kite Flying Extravaganza on Saturday, March 30.
Bring your own kite or build one while you’re there and let it fly high all day; Thomas the Tank Engine will be making the rounds on the G-scale railroad and Bob Hill will give a Hidden Hill tour of “Great Spring Plants” at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The nursery will be open all weekend. Teen Mario Kart at library
The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library will be hosting its first-ever Mario Kart tournament from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 29.
The tournament will be held in the Applegate Meeting Room. Teens and tweens will compete against each other for prizes on the popular Nintendo Wii racing game Mario Kart. No advance registration is necessary. For more information call the reference desk at 812-949-3523.
Bethel AME Church hosting revival
Bethel AME Church, 315 E. Fifth St., New Albany, is hosting a three-day revival at 7 p.m. March 26, 27 and 28.
The theme is “The Passion of Christ.” Guest speakers will be the Rev. Charles Holland, Breaking The Chain Ministry, March 26; Rev. Ida Easley, Wesley United Methodist Church, March 27; and Chad Hunter, New Dimensions Christian Church, March 28.
Clowns to visit library
Professional clowns from Ringling Brothers’ Circus will visit the Sellersburg Library, 430 N. Indiana Ave., from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, March 29, to read a story and do a short routine for families.
