An inch of snow is in the forecast

LOUISVILLE —

An inch of snow is in the forecast

A wintry mix is expected to fall in Southern Indiana Friday morning and could result in about an inch of snowfall, the National Weather Service in Louisville reports.

The majority of the precipitation is expected between 6 and 10 a.m., which would affect morning commutes.

As a result of the timing of the system, the NWS has issued a winter weather advisory from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

“Small changes in the path and structure of this storm system will have significant effects on precipitation types and amounts at any given location,” the special weather statement from the NWS reads.

The chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

The low tonight is expected to be about 23 with a high Friday of about 35. Saturday’s high is pegged at 29, with a high of 37 Sunday.
