SELLERSBURG — The Sellersburg Town Council has been repaid $100,000 it loaned the town’s redevelopment department.

Sellersburg Town Council President Paul Rhodes said the $100,000 was a series of loans offered to redevelopment for planning and engineering services. Through Tax Increment Finance revenues the redevelopment department has gathered enough money to pay back the town’s County Economic Redevelopment Fund.

The money repaid through the loan will be put toward a drainage project in Silver Glades and Forest Estates, Rhodes said.

The total project cost for the drainage project, including the purchase of easements, is estimated to be $310,000. Sellersburg’s Town Council also approved the purchase of those easements at its meeting Monday.

Appointments

The town council also made several appointments at their meeting.

Bruce Bower and Matthew Johnson were named to serve as Sellersburg police commissioners. Johnson is a reappointment to the post.

Nathan Couch was named as a new appointment to the town’s recreation board.
