Fashion show and luncheon Saturday

The second annual Spring Kaleidoscope of Fashion Show & Luncheon will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Culbertson West, 904 E. Main St., New Albany.

Dawne Gee of WAVE-3 will be the guest fashion commentator. Local boutiques will be showing off their spring 2014 designs. Boutiques will also have booths set up beginning at 10 a.m.

Tickets are $35. For tickets call 812-944-5673.  The event is being sponsored by Women of Galatian Missionary Baptist Church.

Relay for Life yard sale March 29

A yard/bake sale to benefit Relay for Life will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 29 at the Masonic Temple, 805 E. Market St., New Albany.


Community Club holding sale

Floyds Knobs Community Club, 4034 Weber Lane, Floyds Knobs, will sponsor an indoor miscellaneous sale, beginning at 9 a.m. March 29 at the clubhouse.

Proceeds will benefit the Floyds Knob Community Club.

Walk in the park

The Clarksville Parks & Recreation will be offering a free guided nature hike through Lapping Park, 9 a.m., Saturday, April 5.

Explore the beauty of our largest park with Brian Vance, Volunteer Naturalist of the Falls of the Ohio State Park. He will share his knowledge and expertise as you hike the trails together. Wear your hiking shoes for this moderate three mile hike, rain or shine. Visitors are asked to meet near Endris Lodge in Lapping Park. Pre-registration is not required for this hike.  


Theatre offers scholarship

Rose Island Playhouse Community Theatre, Charlestown, is accepting scholarship applications form high school seniors. Homeschool students are also eligible.

Applications may be obtained from guidance counselors or from the webpage at roseislandplayhouse,org. The application deadline is April 7.

It’s trivia night in the neighborhood

Jeffersonville Neighborhood Leadership Alliance will hold its annual Trivia Night fundraiser at 7 p.m. April 25.

The 2014 fundraiser will bring neighborhood associations, businesses, clubs and local government groups together for a night of adult camaraderie and fun competition. In addition to competing for prizes through trivia, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction will be provided. A cash bar will also be available.

JNLA is an alliance of neighborhood leaders who work to improve the city of Jeffersonville. The funds raised are used to help new neighborhood associations get started, provide supplies and support to neighborhoods, hold safety programs for the neighborhoods and to sponsor the National Night Out in August each year.

Teams are comprised of eight members and registration must be made by April 7. Email or phone/text to 502-807-9248 for information.
