Forum will address Affordable Healthcare Act
There will be a free public forum on the Affordable Healthcare Act at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11 at Hope Southern Indiana, located in the Brown-Starks Neighborhood Place, 1200 Bono Road in New Albany.
The forum is aimed at answering questions about the new law such as how the Affordable Healthcare Act will affect you and how the Act will be paid for.

Church youth hosting Thunder breakfast
Culbertson Baptist Church youth will host a Thunder Breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. April 20 at the church.
Breakfast will include a buffet of eggs, sausage, bacon, homemade biscuits and gravy, pancakes, fried potatoes, fruit salad and beverages. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for kids ages 10 and under.
The breakfast is open to the community and proceeds will go toward sending youth to camps and mission trips this summer.

St. Mary’s Spring Fling is set
St. Mary’s Catholic Church Altar Society will host its annual Spring Fling Vendor & Craft Show and Luncheon from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in the St. Mary’s school gym and cafeteria, 420 E. Eighth St., New Albany.
There will be several vendor and craft booths with unique items as well as lunch. Featured in the booths will be handcrafted items including crocheted items, handwoven baskets, goat milk soaps, flower arrangements and many more. Lunch includes, soup, chicken salad sandwich, fruit salad, homemade dessert and drink. Ala carte items and carryouts will be available.

Dessert Card Party is April 17
St. Michael’s Catholic Church at Bradford, 114000 Farmers Lane Northeast in Greenville, will host a dessert card party April 17. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the card party starts at 6:30 p.m.
The party will be held in the church parish hall. There will be prizes, raffles and more than 150 door prizes. The cost is $5 and includes dessert and drinks.

K of C chicken dinner is April 12
The Knights of Columbus will host an all-you-can-eat chicken dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 12 at the K of C, 225 E. Market St. in Jeffersonville.
Fido’s 5k will help the Koko Project
Southern Indiana Animal Rescue and the Jeffersonville Fire Department are hosting a a 5k run/walk called Fido’s 5k benefiting the Koko Project at 9 a.m., May 11 at the Overlook on Riverside Drive. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and if they bring their dog, they will receive a bandanna to wear. Preregistration is $20, day of is $25.

Providence soon to debut musical
The Providence Players of Providence High School will present “The Wizard of Oz” as its spring musical April 21 at 2 p.m.; April 25-27 at 7:30 p.m. and April 28 at 2 p.m.
