Floyd Memorial hosting baby fair
Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services’ annual baby fair will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 28, in the hospital’s main lobby.
If you are expecting a new addition to the family, or just considering it, discover valuable resources and information all in one place. Meet obstetricians and certified nurse midwife, local pediatricians, birth doulas, lactation consultants and certified pregnancy and infant massage therapists.
Visit more than 40 booths featuring hospital and community resources and baby specialty stores, and take a guided tour of the Floyd Memorial Birthing Center. There will also be a midwifery presentation at 10 a.m., and a breastfeeding expert Q & A session at 11 a.m.

Celebrating Elvis at the library
The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library, 180 W. Spring St., is hosting Celebrating Elvis at 4 p.m. July 1 in the Strassweg Auditorium.
In recognition of the 60th anniversary of Elvis first record release, Elvis Tribute Artist Brad McCrady will perform some of the King’s favorite songs.

Miss Harvest Homecoming taking entries
The 47th annual Miss Harvest Homecoming and Outstanding Teen competitions will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 9, at Floyd Central High School. The deadline to enter either contest is July 12.
The winner of Miss Harvest Homecoming 2014 will be awarded $3,000 in scholarship funds for her college or graduate school education. Miss Harvest Homecoming’s Outstanding Teen 2014 will be awarded $800 in scholarship funds. In addition, they will receive many other prizes.

FCHS holding reunion
The Floyd Central class of 2004 will be hosting its 10-year reunion at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 28, at Valley View Golf Course. Cost is $25 per person, which includes appetizers, two beer tickets and a live band.

Daylily show and sale
The Daylily Society of Southern Indiana will hold its ninth annual Daylily Show and Plant Sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, June 21, at the Green Tree Mall, Clarksville.
The show will be held at Center Court in the mall. The show is free and open to the public.
The sale will feature daylily plants in a wide variety of colors, sizes and forms. Experienced gardeners will be available to answer questions about gardening and growing daylilies.

Silver Creek alumni meeting
The Silver Creek Alumni Association annual dinner and meeting will take place Saturday, June 28, at American Legion Post 204, 412 N. New Albany St., Sellersburg. The schedule is: registration begins at 5:30 p.m., buffet dinner, 6:30 p.m., entertainment, 7:30 p.m., meeting, 8 p.m.

Downtown walking tour coming Friday
A historic walking tour of downtown Jeffersonville will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, June 27, rain or shine.
Meet in the parking lot at the northeast corner of Spring and Market streets in downtown Jeffersonville for a tour highlighting the East Market Street neighborhood. Clark County Historian Jeanne Burke will lead the tour, sharing stories about the history of the neighborhood, and architectural and historical information about the buildings. The tour will conclude in time for participants to return to Warder Park to enjoy a Concert in the Park at 7 with June Kelley Roy and the Ovation Orchestra, playing Big Band swing.
Sponsored by Jeffersonville Main Street Inc. and the Clark County Museum this is the second in a series of walking/historical tours taking place this summer and autumn. The other tours are tentatively planned for July 25, Aug. 22 and Sept. 26. Details on locations will be posted in advance on Main Street’s website, jeffmainstreet.org.

Make a craft at Clark library
Join the Charlestown-Clark County Library in crafting a 4th of July-themed wind chime. All materials will be provided. This adult craft is open to people 18 years of age and up. Registration is required. Dates and times are as follows:
