River Ridge Commerce Center is following up a busy 2013 with what looks to be another active year, continuing its ever-growing economic pursuits.
The River Ridge Development Authority passed a resolution at a special meeting Friday to sell 27.3 acres of land in Charlestown to a confidential purchaser. Board members would not divulge who purchased the land, or whether it was a developer or specific company looking to build its own facility.
The undeveloped land is selling for $50,000 per acre for the purchaser to build a 225,000-square foot industrial building. The total cost is $1.35 million.
The plot is in the former U.S. Army Tract D3, just beyond the Bethany Road and Paul Garrett Avenue intersection.
Development Authority President Mark J. Robinson said the company could be revealed any time between two weeks or two months.
“Both parties are earnestly committed to moving this project forward quickly,” he said.
The board will discuss its design and construction work for the 2014 construction cycle and considering multiple resolutions during a meeting at the end of this month.
