Exclusively New Albany nears
Develop New Albany Inc. is hosting its “Exclusively New Albany” fundraising event from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 20. The event will be held at the historic Conner-Terstegge-Marguet house at 917 E. Elm St., New Albany.
The city will close 10th Street between Elm and Oak streets where attendees will enjoy samples of food from local restaurants, alcoholic beverage tastings and displays from local merchants. There will also be music and other activities.
As a special added feature, the historic home at 917 E. Elm St., restored by Ann and Larry Ricke, will be open for tours to “Exclusively New Albany” attendees.
Tickets to this Exclusively New Albany fundraiser are $30 per person. Tickets for touring the house are an additional $10 per person. The money raised will go to benefit Develop New Albany, Inc.; the Scribner House; and the Padgett Museum. Tickets can be purchased at developna.org, or by calling David Barksdale at 502-751-9686. Tickets for both the Exclusively New Albany event and the home tour will also be available for purchase the night of the event.
St. Mary’s annual street dance is Saturday
St. Mary’s Catholic Church’s annual street dance will be from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, June 22, on the church grounds, at 415 E. Eighth St. in New Albany.
There will be continuous music with Nervous Energy and Lindsey Lane, and Axis. Cover charge is $5 and you must be 21 to enter.
There will be food and beer along with other beverages and raffles. Proceeds benefit the various programs at the church.
Culbertson Baptist shredding fundraiser set
Culbertson Baptist Church, 4007 Grant Line Road, New Albany, will be hosting a shredding fundraiser from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, in the front parking lot of the church.
A $5 donation will be accepted. Money raised from the shredding event will help fund a mission trip for the church’s youth. For more information, call 812-786-1651.
Animal Control meeting is Thursday
The New Albany-Floyd County Animal Control Authority Board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the shelter, 215 W. Market St., New Albany.
Public input time will be from 7 to 7:15 p.m.
Casting Club offers steak dinner
The Women’s Auxiliary of the Clark County Casting and Conservation Club is sponsoring a steak dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Clubhouse, Conservation Drive, Utica.
The tickets are on sale at the club for $13 each and include steak, baked potato, green beans, salad, roll and drink. Homemade desserts will be available for purchase. There will be music in the bar area.
Tea Party to meet Thursday
The Clark County Tea Party invites the public to the group’s weekly meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg.

Annual daylily show, sale coming up
The Daylily Society of Southern Indiana will be having its eighth-annual Daylily Show and Plant Sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 22, at the Green Tree Mall, Center Court, 757 E. Lewis and Clark Parkway, Clarksville. The show is free and open to the public.
The sale will feature daylily plants in a wide variety of colors, sizes, and forms. Experienced gardeners will be available to answer questions about gardening and growing daylilies. For additional information, call 812-246-3796.
Art entry deadline nears
The Arts Council of Southern Indiana in New Albany is holding its annual “Beyond Borders” exhibit Aug. 9 through Sept. 27. The Opening reception and Monarch Celebration will be on Aug. 10, 1 to 6 p.m.
The exhibit’s theme refers to the Monarch butterfly, its migration and its life cycle. Artists are encouraged to create work that relates to this theme symbolically or literally.
