JNLA PLANNING BEGINS FOR NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
The Jeffersonville Neighborhood Leadership Alliance (JNLA), an organization which got its start from the first two Jeffersonville Neighborhood Leadership Institutes, met Sunday, June 16, in the Mellwood Subdivision to begin the preparation for the National Night Out celebration to be held Aug. 6.
JNLA President Josh Rodriquez spoke at the Jeffersonville City Council meeting last week about the night and requested financial assistance for the JNLA project. Last year, Jeffersonville’s National Night Out, a JNLA event with emphasis on neighborhood crime prevention, won a National Award for Jeffersonville. The next planning meeting will be held on at 6 p.m. June 30 at the Lady Bug Community Garden.

This event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. today, June 20. Tenth Street between Elm and Oak Street will be blocked off that afternoon and evening so tents can be set up for local restaurants and exhibitors. Music, entertainment and dining tables will be located in the Ricke yard. Tickets to attend the event are $30 per person and can be purchased on the Develop New Albany website — developna.org
