WorkOne to host job fair

WorkOne Southern Indiana will host a job fair from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at the WorkOne Center located at 2125 State Street, Suite 16, New Albany.

Multiple regional companies, representing a variety of employment sectors including manufacturing, logistics, transportation, health care, financial services, and hospitality to name a few, will be recruiting at the hiring event. Job seekers attending the hiring event are encouraged to bring several resumes, dress professionally and be prepared to discuss employment opportunities with employers.

NEW ALBANY

Legion event to benefit Comfort Warriors

The American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28 Family of Four  will host a fundraising benefit for Operation Comfort Warriors from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at the post, 1930 McDonald Lane, New Albany.

The activities include music by 3rd Degree, silent auction, raffles, cash bar and 50/50; donation of $5 is requested at the door. Donations for the silent auction are welcome and appreciated. Contact Jimmy Martin at 812-989-8201.

Operation Comfort Warriors is an American Legion program in which 100 percent of the funds go to assist recovering soldiers with unfunded items that are not available to them while they are recovering in medical care facilities.

Bilingual story hour at NA-FC Library

In recognition of The Day of the Child, the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library is presenting a bilingual story hour for families at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27.

Stories will be read in Spanish and English. There will be crafts and activities for children. For more information, call 812-949-3523.

Tri-County seeking PB&J

The Tri-County Health Coalition of Southern Indiana, 1222 State St. in New Albany, is in need of donations of peanut butter and jelly for its summer program.

JEFFERSONVILLE

Church hosting spring fling

Wesley United Methodist Church, 1201 Thomas V. Bryant Drive in Jeffersonville, will host a Spring Fling from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 27.

There will be food and games for children and adults.
