JEFFERSONVILLE

Parks meeting rescheduled

The Jeffersonville Parks Authority meeting that was scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m. has been rescheduled.

The meeting will instead be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, in the mayor’s conference room at Jeffersonville City Hall, 500 Quartermaster Court.

Parks hosts cooking club

The Jeffersonville Parks Department will host its next session of the Sticky Fingers Cooking Club from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 22. The program is for kids ages 7-11. Cost is $5.

The In Stitiches kids sewing club will also meet Dec. 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. for kids ages 9-11. The cost is  $5.

Space for both of these programs is limited and pre-registration is required. You can register online at jeffparks.org or call 502-639-3293 for details.

UTICA

Utica Christmas event is today

The third annual Christmas in the Community will be at 6:30 p.m., today, Dec. 12, at Utica Church of Christ, 300 S. Fourth St., Utica.

Singing songs of the season will be followed by a complimentary meal with dessert and drinks at 7:45 p.m. at the Utica Community Center.

This a is gift from the Utica churches to the community.

NEW ALBANY

Louisville Orchestra at St. Mary’s

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, at Eighth and Spring streets in New Albany, will host the Louisville Orchestra at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.

The concert is free. Gohmann Asphalt & Construction, Inc. is the sponsor of the event. Donations will go to the upkeep and restoration of St. Mary’s historic Barckhoff pipe organ.

‘Wonderful Life’ on state at Culbertson

A live stage production of ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ will be presented at the Culbertson West in New Albany in a dinner theater offering Dec. 13-16. Produced by Bob Trinkle Production, the show recently completed a five-year run at the French Lick Springs Hotel where it enjoyed huge success. Tickets are $42 for adults and $35 for children and includes dinner and the show. The production, based on Frank Capra’s film which starred Jimmy Stewart, is a holiday standard for many.
