Four arrested on meth charges

NEW ALBANY —

Four people were arrested early Wednesday morning after New Albany Police Department responded to a home where an active methamphetamine lab was discovered, police reported.

NAPD Maj. Keith Whitlow said police were in the area about 1 a.m. on an unrelated call when they noticed suspicious activity at nearby 2029 E. Market St.

He said when police responded to the home near Bicknell Park, officers smelled an odor commonly associated with the production of methamphetamine near an unattached garage on the property.

In and around the garage police located Emily Striegel, 24, a resident of the home; Angel Hall, 28, of Paoli; Kayla Lynch, 19, of the 1500 block of East Spring Street in New Albany; and Michael Logsdon, 33, of Louisville.

Striegel has been preliminarily charged with maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony, and manufacturing methamphetamine, a class A felony.

Hall, Lynch and Logsdon have each been preliminarily charged with class A felony manufacturing methamphetamine and class B misdemeanor visiting a common nuisance.

Whitlow said the Indiana State Police were called to the scene to safely process the active lab. Remnants of previously active labs were also found on the property, he said.
