New Albany man sentenced to 9 years for child porn

Agents reported finding sex images of young children on his computer

INDIANAPOLIS — A New Albany man who pleaded guilty to trading graphic sexual images of infants and small children has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison.

Patrick L. Durrett, 24, was sentenced Tuesday on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.

Court documents say 24-year-old Durrett sent graphic images to an undercover FBI agent over a computer network last February. Agents who searched Durrett’s New Albany home in March reported finding sex images mostly of children under age 5 on his computer, including a baby girl. He was charged in September.

Prosecutors say some of the images were created by an international child pornography ring led by a Bloomington man that was busted last year. That investigation has led to at least 20 arrests.

The case was the result of an investigation by the FBI, Indiana State Police, New Albany Police Department, Kokomo Police Department and the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
