Tri-County offering tax help
The Tri-County Health Coalition of Southern Indiana, 1222 State St. in New Albany, is offering residents assistance with their state and federal tax returns Saturday, April 13. The office will open at 10:30 a.m.
Tax forms for the state of Indiana, Kentucky and federal forms will be available on site.

Youth Career Expo set
WorkOne will host a Youth Career Expo for those 17 to 25 years old from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at WorkOne, 2125 State St., Suite 16, New Albany.
Youth will be able to explore a variety of in-demand careers during the event, as well as discuss hiring opportunities with a number of regional employers that have immediate hiring needs. Also, attendees will get experience through workshops on writing resumes and interviewing techniques. A career exploration packet will be distributed.

Raptor Day coming Saturday
Discover the wonders of birds of prey and bird watching at Charlestown State Park, 12500 Ind. 62, Charlestown, during Raptor Day on Saturday, April 13.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Hardy Lake Raptor Rehab Center will present live bird programs and have several of its birds on-hand for visitors to see up-close at the Clark Shelter House (near Trail 2). Naturalists/birders will have telescopes set up for observing birds in their native habitat and offer “non-live” raptor programs.
Children’s activities will include coloring, dissecting owl pellets, creating bird-related crafts and more. Guests are invited to bring a picnic lunch and make a day of the event.
The event is free, although the standard gate fees of $5 per vehicle for Indiana residents and $7 per vehicle for nonresidents will apply.
Backyard Classics hosts car show
The Backyard Classics Car Club will host a car show on the second Friday of each month from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning April 12 on the Square in downtown Charlestown.
The event is free. All vehicles, motorcycles or even bicycles are eligible to participate.
AARP to meet Friday
AARP, Floyd County Chapter, will meet at 1 p.m. Friday, April 12, at St. John’s Church, at the corner of 13th and Elm streets, New Albany.
Highlights include a speaker, drawing for a door prize and 50/50. Refreshments will be provided and guests are welcome. For more information, call 812-944-9525.
Spaghetti fundraiser set for women’s ministry
The Sanctuary House is a new ministry in the Southern Indiana area to serve women who want to break free from their destructive life patterns. These women may be from many different situations. These situations may be from abuse, addictions, prison or jail or perhaps homelessness.
The Sanctuary House provides transitional living, life skills, support groups and lots of love and mentoring. This begins with acknowledging that true healing comes from a partnership between God and people. God does the healing, but that starts with a desire to change, according to a press release.
To raise funds, the organization will host a spaghetti supper at 6 p.m. Friday, April 12. Doors open at 5:30 at Cornerstone Community Church, 6639 St. Mary’s Road, Floyds Knobs. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for those 10 and younger.
There will also be an information table about the ministry and volunteering opportunities, along with booths selling T-shirts, cookbooks and coffee cups. Tea Party group meeting
The Clark County Tea Party Patriots will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, April 11, at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg. The meeting is open to the public.

Sorority hosting fondue party
Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Theta Iota Chapter, will hold its annual fondue card party at 7 p.m. today, April 11, at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg. Admission is $7 per person. Raffle tickets will be on sale that evening for an Apple iPad. The national project of Phi Beta Psi Sorority is cancer research grants.
Cemetery sponsoring fish fry
The Utica Hillcrest Cemetery Association will sponsor a fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Utica Community Center.
The menu will include fish, fries or baked potato, slaw, dessert and drink, $8. A kids meal of a hot dog, fries, dessert and drink will cost $5. Carryout is available. A raffle on a flat screen television will also take place.
Proceeds benefit the upkeep of the cemetery.
K of C hosting chicken dinner
The Knights of Columbus, 225 E. Market St., Jeffersonville, will sponsor an all-you-can-eat chicken dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the K of C. Hall.
The menu will be chicken, green beans, macaroni and cheese, potatoes and gravy, slaw, drink and dessert for $8. A large portion of the proceeds will be given to charity.
