NEW ALBANY — REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

Floyd County now has a redevelopment commission. The commissioners approved the ordinance which calls for a five-member commission. The first meeting will likely be later this year.

CELL TOWERS

The commissioners were approached by Verizon and AT&T about leasing county property to install two separate 195-foot cell towers.

Verizon wants to put a tower near the North Annex along Grant Line Road while AT&T was looking at a spot behind the Pine View Government Building. Both requests were taken under advisement.
