Harrison County driver dies in Jennings County wreck

JENNINGS COUNTY — A Harrison County woman died early Saturday morning in a head-on collision that also left two Jennings County women injured, police said.

Jessica Lowry, 27, New Salisbury, was pronounced died at the scene of the 5:11 a.m. crash on Ind. 3 near County Road 500 North, Maj. Jerry Shepherd of the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department said.

Tracy Elliot, 49, and Brenda M. Goff, 44, both of North Vernon, were taken to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon. Their conditions were not available Sunday afternoon, a spokeswoman said.

Lowry was southbound on State Road 3 in a 1995 Buick when her vehicle crossed the center line two miles north of North Vernon and struck Elliot’s northbound 2012 Mitsubishi box truck, police reported.

Ind. 3 remained closed several hours while the crash remained under investigation, police said.
