Church to host back-to-school giveaway

Eastside Christian Church, Centerstone, Community Action of Southern Indiana and Jeffersonville- Metro Parents in Education are partnering to host a community health, education and safety fair and back-to-school giveaway. The free event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 20, at Eastside Christian Church, 2319 Veterans Pkwy., Jeffersonville. This venture is possible through the partnerships, as well as collaborations from local community agencies and businesses that will be contributing time, talent, services and resources.

Free services will include: medical, optical, dental, clothing, shoes, healthy food, organic gardening and environmental awareness, family portraits, back packs with school supplies, and hair-cuts. Limited transportation will be provided at various locations throughout the community.

Volunteers are needed to work the event, along with new back packs and school supplies for k-12 students, bottled water, healthy snacks, and monetary contributions.
