YMCA forming ski club
The community is invited to participate in the YMCA of Southern Indiana’s Ski Club starting Jan. 1 at Paoli Peaks.
The club is great for ages 7 and up who want to participate as a family or meet new friends. Each participant will receive six lift tickets, six ski or snowboard rentals and one group lesson. These six passes can be used on any day and at anytime – except blackout dates for the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday weekend: Jan. 18-20. It will also include two, $25 discount passes for bringing friends, tubing and other lessons.
Participants are welcome to drive on their own or ride the Y bus on specified Monday Ski Club Transportation Nights at no extra cost. On Mondays, Jan. 6, 13, 27 and Feb. 3, the Y bus will leave the Clark County Branch at 4 p.m. and will return at 10 p.m.
Registration is going on now and is available at the front desk of either branch or online at ymcasi.org. If registered by Friday, Dec. 6, the cost for members is $180 and $200 for participants. After Friday, Dec. 6, the cost for members is $195 and $215 for participants.

Angel Tree project underway
The 2013 Senior Citizen’s Angel Tree project, sponsored by LifeSpan Resources Inc., the Area Agency on Aging for Clark, Floyd, Harrison and Scott counties, is underway. LifeSpan has coordinated this project, a spin-off of The Salvation Army Children’s Tree, for the past 25 years.
“Angels” can be adopted at lifespanresources.org by clicking on the Facebook link; or in person at the agency, 33 State St., third floor, New Albany (in the YMCA building) or by phone/email to have one mailed/emailed to you.
