A Bible and Arts Program, the VBS theme is "Hip-Hop-Hope Jesus Makes Me Glad."
Van transportation pick-up times will be between 4:45 and 5:20 p.m. at Greenwood, National, Fulton Terrace and Gardenside Community Buildings and Colonial Park Drive at Long Street.
Culbertson Baptist Church
Culbertson Baptist Church, 4007 Grant Line Road, New Albany, is making big plans for Bible School, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. nightly, June 17 through 21 in the Family Life Center of the church. All children of the community, pre-K through grade 5, are invited to attend.
The theme will be “Welcome to Athens: Paul’s Dangerous Journey to Share the Truth.” Boys and girls will be divided into tribes, each with an adult tribal leader, and will have Bible study and storytime in their groups. Each night, they will also visit the marketplace for crafts, games and food.
Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church
Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church includes a variety of free activities for children and teens and even their parents, all focusing on Christian fellowship, learning, and fun.
“Gotta Move!” is the theme of this year’s week for all children in the community ages 4 through 8th grade as of this coming school year. VBS will meet at the church, 2100 U.S. 150 in Floyds Knobs, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, June 17-20. A closing program will be at 6:30 p.m. that Friday led by the VBS participants and followed by an ice cream social.
Each day will include Bible lessons, crafts, recreation, snacks, and music. New this year are a program for middle school students in grades 6, 7, and 8, who will take a field trip to Mount St. Francis that Wednesday; and a parenting class each night for parents of children who attend. It will be led by Pastor Tony Alstott.
