Sellersburg

LSI Breakfast Series will welcome Youth Institute president on Feb. 21

Leadership Southern Indiana Breakfast Series will be from 7:30 to 9 a.m., Feb. 21, at Ivy Tech Community College, 8204, Highway 311, Sellersburg. The breakfast will be in the Community Room of the Horseshoe Foundation Assembly Center in Ogle Hall.

Indiana Youth Institute President and CEO Bill Stanczykiewicz will share his inspiring and informative message about youth development and academic achievement. He will present a snapshot of how youth are fairing in Southern Indiana communities and insights on IYI's initiatives to boost high-school graduation rates, increase the number of mentoring relationships across Indiana, and promote career and college planning for children and parents. In addition, he will discuss how IYI builds the capacity of Indiana's youth workers and youth-serving agencies to ensure kids have access to high-quality programs that can play a vital role in children growing into happy, healthy and productive adults.

New Albany

Eighth-grade parent meeting at NAHS

New Albany High School’s Eighth Grade Parent Night will be at 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 28, in the NAHS auditorium. 

 The program is for the parents of any student who will be a freshmnn at NAHS next school year.

 

Archbishop visiting Tuesday

The Most Rev. Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., the recently appointed and installed archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis, will visit the New Albany Deanery on Tuesday, Jan. 29. 

Archbishop Tobin will celebrate the Eucharist for all members of the deanery at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, 3033 Martin Road, Floyds Knobs, at 7 p.m. This visit coincides with the observance of Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 28-Feb. 1.
