SELLERSBURG

Church holding Lenten fish frys

St. Joe Hill Catholic Church, 2605 St. Joe Road West, Sellersburg, will sponsor Lenten fish frys from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 and 22 and March 1, 8, 15 and 22, at the church Parish Hall.

The menu will be fish or shrimp dinners with french fries, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, slaw, drink and dessert, all for $9. Cheese pizza will also be available. Carry outs available.

Register for spelling be by Feb. 22

Rock Creek Community Academy, 11525 U.S. 31, Sellersburg, is sponsoring an adult/teenage spelling bee at 6:30 p.m. March 14 at the school.

Teams will consists of three to five people and entry fee is $15 per person.

Deadline to enter is Feb. 22. Contact bkoopman@rccasi.org or iriley@rccasi.org with questions.

Proceeds will help fund the eighth grade trip to Chicago.

 

CLARKSVILLE

Free fingerprints, photos for kids

Jeff Wyler Toyota will offer free FBI-quality digital fingerprint and photographs of kids from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 15 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, at its Clarksville dealership, 808 E. Lewis and Clark Parkway. 

The Keeping Kids Safe Project will take a child’s fingerprints and send them home with parents. Parents can use the record to turn directly over to authorities anywhere in the world to instantly aid in an investigation. Library presenting Jane Austen program

The Clarksville Branch Library, 1312 Eastern Blvd., Clarksville, will present an evening with Jane Austen, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the library.

Join IUS professor, Tresa Reynolds, for an evening of Jane Austen. This event marks the kick-off of the Jane Austen Book Club at the Clarksville Library.

The Jane Austen Book Club will meet the second Tuesday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m., beginning March 12. The club will read “Mansfield Park” by Jane Austen for the first meeting.
