Pizza and Preservation tonight at New Albany-Floyd County Library

Floyd County Historian David Barksdale, genealogist Beth Nolan and Floyd County Recorder Lois Andres are some of the speakers scheduled for tonight’s Pizza and Preservation event.

The outing is part of Preservation Month, and is titled “Unlock the History of Your Historic Home.” It runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Strassweg Auditorium of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library.

Librarians Betty Menges and Nancy Strickland will also participate in the workshop, which is designed for owners of historic homes and anyone interested in the history of buildings in their communities.

Speakers will offer guidance on research methods and resources for finding out about historic homes. Participants will first meet in the Strassweg Auditorium for pizza and an introduction before moving to the Indiana Room to research their own buildings.

The free event is sponsored by the library and requires a reservation. For more information, call Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana at 812-284-4534.
