SOUTHERN INDIANA

Hosparus looking for volunteers

Hosparus Southern Indiana needs patient care volunteers who live in Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Scott and Washington counties. Hosparus will offer free volunteer training from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, March 4 at its New Albany office, 624 E. Market St. Lunch is provided.

Volunteers help with patient and family support, administrative duties and development/fundraising. Hosparus carefully selects volunteers and provides them with comprehensive training specially designed to meet the needs of patients and families. Hosparus volunteers must have available transportation and complete training and an application process.

 

SELLERSBURG

St. Paul hosting open house

St. Paul Preschool Child Care will hold open house and registration from noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, March 3, at St. Paul School, 105 St. Paul St., Sellersburg.

Registrations will be accepted for the following programs: preschool classes for children 3-5; full- and part-time daycare; summer care; before-school care; full- and part-time after-school care. Staff will be available to answer questions regarding programs and refreshments will be served.

FLOYD COUNTY

Host families needed for 4-H program

This summer, youth in Southern Indiana will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the world by participating in a cultural immersion by hosting a Polish 4-Her who will be visiting Indiana July 21 through Aug. 6. During their stay, they will live with host families, participate in 4-H activities and learn about daily living in Indiana. 

Host families are needed for youth ages 12 to 18 and the adult chaperones. Participants will also share the Indiana 4-H experience by engaging the Polish guests in 4-H meetings, fairs, and activities.  

Applications are available from the Floyd County Extension Office and must be submitted by Tuesday, March 5.  For more information and/or a copy of the application, contact Melissa Merida, 4-H Youth Development Educator at 812-948-5470.
