Learn more about historic designations

NEW ALBANY —

On Thursday, May 23, the public is invited to learn more the different types of historic designation found in New Albany, and how those designations impact property owners. 

What does it mean if something is listed in the National Register of Historic Places? How does that differ from historic district designation through a local ordinance?

Christina Pfau, chair of the New Albany Historic Preservation Commission and owner of Peacock Preservation Consulting LLC, will lead the workshop, which will address these questions and many more.

The workshop will be at held at the Pepin Mansion Retreat and Meeting House, 1003 E. Main St., in New Albany, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited and reservations are requested.
