Steamboat exhibit continues through July

NEW ALBANY — The free “By the River’s Edge” steamboat exhibit runs through the end of the month at the Resch Gallery, which is located on the second floor of the historic United Gas & Electric Building at 138 E. Spring St. in New Albany.

The display features local and state steamboat artifacts. The exhibit is part of the Rivers Institute at Hanover College’s celebration of the 200th anniversary of the first steamboat trip through the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.

As part of New Albany’s citywide celebration Saturday, the exhibit will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For the rest of July, the display will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
