Aglow group to meet

An Aglow meeting will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Covenant Community Fellowship, 727 Rolling Creek Drive, New Albany.

Fellowship is 6:30 to 7 p.m. with the meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Speaker will be Donna McClanahan, vice-president of Financial Development at Lighthouse Aglow, Corydon.

CLARK COUNTY

Meeting event for GOP candidates

Come out and meet Republican candidates Terry Conway for coroner and Ryan Lynch for County Council from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, upstairs at Cluckers, 100 W. Riverside Drive, Jeffersonville.

Suggested donation is $10 per person. Plans include door prizes, appetizer buffet and a cash bar will be available. For more information call 812-590-3662.

Walk to combat addiction coming up

Grassroots Prevention Coalition of Clark County is sponsoring a tragedy triumph overcoming addiction walk from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 20 at Perrin Park, Perrin Lane, Jeffersonville.

All proceeds from the 3.1 mile walk/run will create scholarships for Clark County youth. For more information call 812-288-6451.

SELLERSBURG

Church hosting homecoming series

Hamburg Church of Christ, 8921 Newberry Road, Sellersburg, is sponsoring a “Homecoming and Homegoing” series with evangelist Paul Kitzmiller, the director of Goin Fishing Missions.

A pitch-in dinner Sunday will follow the 10:30 a.m. morning service and a report of mission efforts to Ukraine will be given on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday services will be at 7 p.m.

Former members, friends and general public are welcome.

JEFFERSONVILLE

Radio personality to speak

Radio personality Les Naiman will speak on “America: Past, Present, Future,” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Jeffersonville Elks Club, 1820 Charlestown-Jeffersonville Pike, Jeffersonville.

This is a free event and door prizes will be awarded. The Elks Club will have food and drink available for purchase.

Learn how to quit smoking

Health Ministry team at Catholic Community of Jeffersonville is sponsoring a Smoking Cessation Seminar at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at St. Augustine’s Parish Hall, 315 Chestnut St., Jeffersonville.

Annie Reiss from Clark County Tobacco Coalition will speak about the free programs offered by the state of Indiana to help smokers quit. The public is welcome.
