The Belle of Louisville will host a group of legendary men and women during its sightseeing cruise Sunday, Sept. 29.

Nearly 100 soldiers from the Wounded Warrior recovery unit at Ft. Knox will board the steamboat for an afternoon of relaxation on the Ohio River, according to a press release.

The Wounded Warrior Project serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness or wounds during their service during the past decade. Their mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors, while ultimately striving to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.

“We are both honored and excited to host such an important group of passengers and their families,” said Belle of Louisville CEO Linda Harris in the release. “Being able to give back to a group who has already given so much just seems like the right thing to do.”
