Celebrate Halloween at Deam Lake
Deam Lake will celebrate Halloween on Oct. 25 and Oct. 26.
On Friday, trick-or-treaters will be welcome to descend upon the campground from 5 to 7 p.m. On Saturday, there will be a “Decorate Your Campsite” contest, which will be judged at 4 p.m., and at dusk. Deam Lake’s biggest event, the Haunted Trail will start, and last until 10:30 p.m.
All events are free with admission to Deam Lake, and donations will go to improving the Forest Education Center. Volunteers are still being accepted for the Haunted Trail. For more details or to apply for a volunteer position, call the Deam Lake office at 812-246-5421.
Meeting set on bridge
Officials with the Ohio River Bridges Project will display updated renderings of improved aesthetics that will be part of the Indiana approach to the east-end crossing.
The aesthetic changes will be displayed at a public open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the John Nobel Woods Community Center, 106 N. Fourth St., Utica.
Visitors may arrive and view the exhibits at any time during the event and will have an opportunity to submit written comments on the aesthetics displays. Project representatives will be available to discuss the aesthetic concepts. No formal presentations will be made.
FMH uniform sale is Wednesday
Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services Auxiliary will host a Cardinal Uniform sale from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in classroom three and four in the Paris Education Center of the hospital, 1850 State St.
The sale will be open to the public as well as hospital employees and associates. There will be an abundance of items such as uniforms, scrubs, Nursemate shoes, stethoscopes, socks, support hose and blood pressure cuffs.
There will also be plenty of clearance items and a large selection of value-priced scrubs. A percentage of all the sales will go toward the many hospital projects of the auxiliary. For further information, call 812-948-6734.
