NA-FC Library receives grant

Will fund the digitization of more than 7,000 photos

NEW ALBANY — The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library received a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Studies (IMLS) and the Indiana State Library to digitize more than 7,000 photographs that are part of the library’s local history collection.

In order to help keep the public informed on the progress of the grant project, the Indiana Room will begin posting to its own Facebook page. The page will be used to post photographs that have been digitized as part of the project through some regular features like Mustache Monday, where staff will post pictures that showcase interesting facial hair.

The library staff also will use the page to shine a light on, in concert with the library’s website, the various programs being offered by the Indiana Room as well as the more interesting parts of the library’s local history collection.

The Indiana Room’s Facebook Page can be located at facebook.com/IndianaRoom
