Thrift shop holding yard sale

Sophie’s Hope Thrift Shoppe, 2808 E. 10th St., Jeffersonville, will sponsor an “all-American yard sale” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the shop.

CCC offering free fishing class

Clark County Casting & Conservation Club, 6400 Conservation Drive, Jeffersonville, is sponsoring a free fishing seminar at 1 p.m. May 11 at the CCCC Club.

Members, nonmembers and children are invited. A kids casting tournament and fishing cleaning demonstration will be held following the fishing seminar. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The casting tournament will be divided into three groups, 8 years and younger, 9 to 11 years old and 12 to 16 years old.


Relay for Life craft event set

The First Christian Church Relay for Life Team is hosting its spring bazaar/craft show and vendor event to raise funds for cancer research.  

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11, at the FCC Grace Center, 3209 Middle Road, Jeffersonville. There will be more than 25 vendor booths, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction. Lots of craft, home, and personal items will be for sale.



Make crafts with mom

The Clarksville Branch Library is celebrating moms on Monday, May 6, with a “crafts with mom” event. Children are invited to spend some quality time with their mom making button bracelets, magnets and handprint pictures. This event is for all youth and their moms and will be held from 5 to 6 p.m.

Sports physicals to be offered

Sports physicals will be offered at Clarksville High School from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 6, in the main gymnasium.

The physicals will be for athletes who will be in grades 3-12 who plan to compete on any Clarksville athletic team during the 2013-14 school year. The cost for the physicals is $10.
