Floyd Central announces final theatre productions

FLOYDS KNOBS —

Floyd Central High School Theatre Arts has announced its final performances of the 2012-13 school year. 

 

THEATRE ARTS SHOWCASE

The Floyd Central Theatre Arts Showcase will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9. The showcase will feature a variety of performances from musical theatre, advanced acting and introduction to theatre courses.

Tickets for the showcase are $8 for adults and $6 for students.

 

FLOYD CENTRAL TEN MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL

The Floyd Central Ten Minute Play Festival will feature a number original plays that have been written, directed, designed and acted by FCHS students. The festival will be at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14.

Each play was conceived and written by students in FCHS’ Advanced Acting I class as part of the Actors Theatre of Louisville New Voices Playwriting Residency. During this residency, teaching artists from Actors Theatre conducted a series of workshops with students and helped each of them develop their own 10-minute play. Three of those original plays were also selected to be performed at Actors Theatre.

Tickets for the festival are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $6 for students.
