Touch a Truck event coming up
The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s 10th annual Touch a Truck program will be from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 24 in the area located behind the Clarksville Town Hall, 2000 Broadway Street, Clarksville. The event will coincide with the popular 15th annual Clarksville Community Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Area businesses and organizations will display their vehicles, allowing children to get a hands-on experience.
Booth rental space — 12 foot by 20 foot — for the yard sale is $25. Vendors may purchase more than one space. Food vendors or commercial vendors not permitted. Tables and chairs not provided. Rain or shine. Participants may set up at 7 a.m. Concessions will be provided by the Optimist Club of Clarksville.

Hall of Fame banquet set
New Albany High School’s annual hall of fame induction banquet will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 29 in the school’s cafeteria. Reservations are $30 each and can me mailed to: NAHS Hall of Fame, care of Jason Flener, 1020 Vincennes St., New Albany, IN, 47150. Those wishing to make reservations for the event can also stop by the school to do so.
This year’s honorees include: Phyllis Breen Cogan, class of 1964; Bob Dusch, class of 1962, faculty from 1966-2013; Lillian Emery, class of 1905; Lee Kelly, faculty, 1973-2013; Hank Klein, class of 1946; Don McMahel, class of 1948, faculty at various schools in the NA-FC School Corp. from 1959-1993; Walter Poff, class of 1949; Muriel Ryall, class of 1922, faculty from 1939-1971; Sam Shine, class of 1951; Steve Sipes, class of 1967, teacher/administrator from 1972-2009; Stanley Starks, Bulldog bus driver, 1951-1980; and Col. John Stotsenburg, class of 1876, who was killed in the Philippines insurrection on April 23, 1899, while leading his regiment.
