New Albany City Council approves $745k for street department

City will test for West Nile Virus next week

NEW ALBANY — West Nile testing on Monday

Gibson told the council the city will be testing for the West Nile Virus in New Albany on Monday.

He said the city has a truck that has equipment capable of detecting the virus.

The Clark County Health Department detected West Nile in three pools of mosquitos it tested last month, and Gibson said the city wants to protect its residents from the virus.

The truck being used for the testing can also disperse through a fogger chemicals to kill mosquitos.

The city is expected to announce more details of the program today on its website at www.cityofnewalbany.com.
