Floyd County wreck sends driver to hospital

FLOYD COUNTY — New Chapel Firefighters worked an accident scene on the 5400 block of Grant Line Road in New Albany on Wednesday. Floyd County Police Patrolman Jason Jones said a car was traveling south when it rounded a curve, sliding off the road into a ditch then flipping over.

New Chapel Fire and Yellow EMS responded, extracating the driver from the car. Jones said the driver was transported to University of Louisville Hospital for observation, but appeared alert and was able to give him a statement. Jason Cochran, major with New Chapel Fire Department, said there was a wreck in the same spot Monday.
