Alumni game on the way

The New Washington SADD Chapter will host the fourth annual Pennies for Sug Mustang Basketball Alumni game June 25 at New Washington High School, 226 Ind. 62, New Washington.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit the American Cancer Society in memory of Miriam “Sug” Matthews. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with the women’s game at 6 p.m., followed by the men’s game.

Registration fee is $30 and includes a T-shirt. If you are interested in participating, contact Kirsti Holloway at 502-345-0388 with T-shirt size as soon as possible.


Program on pond management set

The Clark County Soil and Water Conservation District, Natural Resources Conservation District and Purdue Extension — Clark County will host a pond management clinic June 14.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 9 a.m.  The event will be held at the Larr farm, 4698 Old Boles Lane, Nabb. Bring a lawn chair, as seating is limited.

Extension Educator Dave Hynes will start the day with plant identification and control and some regulatory issues. Brendan Hastie, biologist with Aquatic Control, will discuss general pond management concepts. Landowner Pat Larr and NRCS Conservationist Jennifer Kipper will cover nutrient management practices active on that farm. The program is free and open to the public.

FCHS class of ‘94 reunion June 14

Floyd Central High School class of 1994 will hold its 20-year reunion at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Wick’s in New Albany. The cost is $20 at the door for the pizza buffet.
