FLOYDS KNOBS —
Floyds Knobs American Legion Post 42 gave up only one run en route to an 8-1 victory over visiting Seymour on Saturday. Post 42 banged out 12 hits while allowing only two in the win.
Floyds Knobs was led offensively by Floyd Central graduate Jacob Snodgrass. He went 2-for-4 at the plate, scoring twice and driving in three runs. Charlestown junior Ryan Jones went 2-for-5 with a double and a pair of RBIs for Post 42.
Floyd Central grad Garrett Ruttle was the winning pitcher for Floyds Knobs.
On Friday, Floyds Knobs scored 12 runs on 11 hits to earn a decisive victory over Madison in Friday’s opening round of the Floyds Knobs Sectional.
Floyd Central grad Kyle Sipes picked up the win for Post 42, improving his record to 4-1 on the season.
Snodgrass had two doubles for Floyds Knobs, going 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI. North Harrison grad and Southeastern Illinois’ Collin Book batted in two and scored twice, going 2-for-4.
