H.S. ROUNDUP: Hornet girls, Brave boys prevail in tri-meet

Henryville’s Spears, New Wash’s Herrod each win three events

(Continued)

HENRYVILLE — BASEBALL

• Hornets stay undefeated in SAC: Despite collecting only two hits, Henryville stayed undefeated in SAC play with a 6-3 triumph at Lanesville.

The Hornets’ Cody Reister was the winning pitcher, striking out nine and walking two.

“We were fortunate to win,” Henryville coach Jeff Schroeder said. “We left 10 runners on base and did nothing with the bats. Our runs came via walks, errors and a balk.”

NEXT: Henryville (8-4, 3-0 SAC) will host Paoli (DH), Saturday.

• Bulldogs down Holy Cross: Logan Striegel went 3-for-4 and Garrett Sherrell was 2-for-2 in New Albany’s 4-2 win over visiting Louisville Holy Cross. The Bulldogs’ Shane Robison earned the victory, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits in four innings.

NEXT: New Albany (8-4) versus Muhlenberg County (Ky.) at Louisville Butler, tonight.

• Musketeers fall at Austin: Eastern managed only three hits in a 1-0 loss at Austin on Thursday. Despite earning the loss, Musketeer starting pitcher Kaleb Nicholson gave up one run (unearned) on six hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

NEXT: Eastern (2-9) will host Salem and West Washington, Saturday.

CLARKSVILLE-PROVIDENCE RESCHEDULED
