ROUNDUP: Floyd defeats rival New Albany in girls’ tennis

Silver Creek still on top of MSC



• Webster hits, pitches Pirates to victory: Alli Webster struck out six and went 3-for-4 at the plate to help host Charlestown past North Harrison 15-5 in five innings on Tuesday.

Webster had five RBIs and scored twice as the Pirates improved to 2-1 in the MSC. Alyssa Price went 2-for-4 and knocked in a pair of runs for Charlestown.

NEXT: Charlestown (4-1, 2-1 MSC) at Scottsburg, Thursday.

• Errors doom Generals again: Host Clarksville commityed five errors for the second straight night and fell to Corydon Central 7-6 in an MSC game on Tuesday.

“We shot ourselves in the foot again,” Clarksville coach Tim Hauber said. “We just have new people in key spots and we’ve been unable to overcome [the errors].”

Ali Sparkman went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, three runs scored and an RBI in the loss.
