• Johnnie Guy (Southern Indiana men’s cross country, North Harrison graduate, So.) — top performance: first at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday in Kenosha, Wis., 31:06; notes: Guy was named the Midwest Region Runner of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Midwest Region team; the Screaming Eagles’ second-place finish earned them a spot in the NCAA Division II national championships.

• Brandon Beam (IU South Bend men’s basketball, So.) — weekly stats: 4.5 points per game, 3-9 field goals, 0-4 3-pointers, 3-5 free throws, two rebounds, two steals; notes: five points in the Titans’ 105-78 loss at IU Southeast on Saturday; team record: 1-3.

• Cassie Holland (Asbury women’s soccer, So.) — notes: one shot and one shot on goal in the Eagles’ 3-2 home win over Cincinnati Christian in the KIAC Tournament semifinals last Tuesday; Holland came off the bench in Asbury’s 2-1 home win over Point Park in the KIAC Tournament championship on Saturday; the Eagles earned an automatic berth into the NAIA national tournament; team records: 11-8 overall, 6-0 KIAC.

• Dylan Jenney (Franklin football, Jr.) — top performance: team-high eight receptions for 65 yards in the Grizzlies’ 24-17 home win over Bluffton on Saturday; notes: Franklin had its 31-game Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference winning streak end against the Beavers; team records: 6-3 overall, 6-1 HCAC.

• Loryn Queen (Tennessee-Chattanooga women’s soccer, So.) — notes: Queen was one of four Mocs to start in every game this season; she ranked fourth on the team in shots (17), tied for fourth in goals (two) and tied for fifth in shots on goal (seven); Queen made the eventual game-winning goal in Chattanooga’s 5-1 victory at South Carolina State on Sept. 15; team records: 5-13 overall, 0-10 Southern Conference.

• Alysen Shireman (Campbellsville women’s soccer, Jr.) — notes: Shireman started at defender in the Tigers’ 2-1 home loss to Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday in the Mid-South Conference Tournament quarterfinals; team records: 11-5-1 overall, 6-3 Mid-South.

• Melanie Stutsman (Western Kentucky volleyball, Sr.) — weekly stats: 64 assists, 11 digs, nine kills, seven aces, two blocks; top performance: match-high 39 assists, four kills, four digs and two blocks in the Hilltoppers’ 3-0 home win over Arkansas-Little Rock on Sunday; notes: On Sunday, Western Kentucky claimed at least a share of the Sun Belt Conference regular-season championship and secured the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament for the third year in a row; team records: 24-5 overall, 14-1 Sun Belt.

• Casey Guernsey (Bellarmine women’s cross country, So.) — notes: fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.68), sixth in the 200 breast (2:45.07), seventh in the 200 medley relay (2:07.45) and 10th in the 200 individual medley (2:36.27) in the Knights’ triangular meet with Centre and Franklin at the University of Louisville on Saturday.

• Kegan Clark (IU Southeast men’s basketball, Sr.) — weekly stats: 14.5 points per game, 11-16 field goals, 3-5 3-pointers, 4-7 free throws, nine rebounds, six assists, four steals; top performance: 15 points, shooting 5-of-5 from the field, 1-of-1 from 3-point range and 4-of-6 from the line, game-high five assists, five rebounds and game-high three steals in the Grenadiers’ 105-78 home win over IU South Bend on Saturday; team record: 3-1.

• Taylor Davis (Hanover women’s soccer, Fr.) — notes: Davis came off the bench in both the Panthers’ 2-1 home win over Transylvania in the HCAC Tournament championship on Saturday and their 2-0 home victory over Rose-Hulman in the HCAC Tournament semifinals last Wednesday; Saturday’s victory earned Hanover an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III national tournament; team records: 17-1-2 overall, 8-0-1 HCAC.

• Evan Maschmeyer (St. Joseph’s (Pa.) men’s basketball, Jr.) — notes: one assist in the Hawks’ 74-64 at Vermont on Saturday; team record: 1-0.

• Leah Mattingly (Ball State women’s soccer, Fr.) — top performance: After the Cardinals and Miami (Ohio) battled to a scoreless tie at the end of regulation and two overtime periods in the MAC Tournament semifinals on Saturday in Ypsilanti, Mich., Mattingly made a goal in a penalty-kick shootout that Ball State won 4-2; notes: Mattingly started in the Cardinals’ 1-0 loss to Western Michigan in the MAC Tournament championship on Sunday; it was Ball State’s first appearance in the MAC Tournament title match; Mattingly has made the MAC’s All-Freshman team; Mattingly started in all of the Cardinals’ 22 games and played 2,084 minutes this season; she helped Ball State lead the MAC in goals against average (.81); season-ending stats: 19 shots, six shots on goal, four points, two assists, one goal; team records: 11-7-4 overall, 5-4-2 MAC.
