CLARKSVILLE —  Alexis Barnett scored 15 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, to help lead Silver Creek to a 70-47 Mid-Southern Conference victory over Clarksville on Wednesday.

Hannah Mattingly and Kelsi Scott added 12 points apiece for the Dragons, who were 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the MSC coming into the contest.

Clarksville senior Gabby Evans led all scorers with 18 points. Haley Jenkins and Bailey Sharp finished with nine each for the Generals, who were only down 15-13 after one quarter before being outscored by the Dragons 16-5 in the second quarter.

“I thought our girls played very well,” Clarksville coach B.D. Ledbetter said. “The second quarter kills us, but overall I think the girls showed a lot of improvement. We’re moving in the right direction.”

The Generals will attempt to equal last year’s win total of four on Saturday when they host 2-2 Crawford County. On the same afternoon, Creek hosts MSC-rival Corydon Central, which is also 2-2 overall.
