CLASS 3A WASHINGTON REGIONAL Dragons can’t overcome defending champs

Silver Creek’s magical run comes to end at hands of No. 1 Greensburg, 70-60

(Continued)

WASHINGTON —

It was an anticlimactic ending for a Silver Creek team that turned the postseason into a steady stream of highlights, but it turned into an emotional farewell for the three Dragon seniors — Davidson, Durham and Brooks Howell — as the team made its way through the procession on their way out of the Hatchet House.

"We talked a lot about how the seniors have made a path for us," Reed said after breaking a tearful embrace with Davidson. "For the rest of us, now we have to live up to what they did. We feel like we can get back here next year, and if we do, we feel like we'll be doing it for them."
