The Clarksville girls’ basketball team improved its record to 2-0 in pool play in the Henryville Tipoff Tournament on Thursday night, defeating Irvington Prep Academy at home 72-33.
Generals’ senior center Haley Jenkins had a huge night with a double-double. Jenkins scored a game-high 25 points and snagged 21 rebounds. Jenkins’ performance came one game after she tallied a career-high 30 points in Clarksville’s 105-20 victory over Medora on Tuesday in the Tipoff Tournament opener.
Clarksville sophomore Bailey Sharp, who recorded a career-high 41 points versus Medora, had 15 points against Irvington. General senior Gabby Evans scored 10 points.
“The Irvington team threw a different defense at us,” Clarksville coach B.D. Ledbetter said. “But we adjusted to it in the second half and we got some easy baskets. It took time for us to adjust.”

• Henryville rolls past Medora: Host Henryville stayed undefeated in pool play of the Henryville Tipoff Tourney on Thursday, defeating Medora 75-22.
Sophomore guard Emily Hollis paced the Hornets with a game-high 20 points. Junior Lesha Dallas was Henryville’s other double-figure scorer with 17. Hornet sophomore Haley Huddleston poured in nine.
“We played hard and got a little better defensively,” Henryville coach Josh Conrad said. “In the second half, we had better ball movement and shot selection.”

• Warriors fall to Crothersville: Christian Academy lost its second pool game in the Henryville Tipoff Tourney on Thursday in a 69-54 setback at Crothersville.
Senior Emily Huffaker was the Warriors’ leading scorer with 13 points. Teammates Allison Burch and Rachel Wright each tallied eight points. Christian Academy’s Kirsten Carruthers grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds along with seven points.
