NEW WASHINGTON — MONDAY LATE RESULTS

VOLLEYBALL

ROCK CREEK 3, CHARLESTOWN 0

At Rock Creek

    Set scores: 25-11, 25-22, 25-15.

Charlestown stats: Lauren Crowe 3 kills, 1 block, 1 dig; Erika Broady 2 kills, 1 ace; Cassie Martin 2 kills, 1 assist, 2 digs; Carly Price 1 kill, 1 dig; Hayley Layton 2 kills, 1 ace; Kim Knight 2 kills, 1 block; Megan Brooks 3 kills, 10 assists, 1 dig; Shelby Goedeker 1 assist, 2 digs.

Quotes: Charlsetown coach Tammy Nuxoll, “We definitely came out flat in the first game against Rock Creek. We struggled early with our serve reception but did better in the second and third sets. Rock Creek ran a reverse offense when number six was on the front row which was effective for them but not something we have faced all year so we were sometimes out of position on defense. The girls gave lots of effort, but we just made mistakes at crucial times. Rock Creek came out and played like they wanted it more than we did tonight.”
