Tourism director touts Derby Dinner

My wife and I attended Derby Dinner Playhouse’s production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” on opening night. This is Derby Dinner’s 35th anniversary and, in what the national media is calling a downturn trend in tourism, under the leadership of Bekki Jo Schneider and her team, Derby Dinner is having a great year. In fact, season ticket sales are at an all-time high. This is a testament to the hard work of bringing a great entertainment product, not only for our local enjoyment but for visitors and tourists alike.

We certainly are blessed to have this top-notch entertainment venue in our community. We encourage you, if you haven’t been to Derby Dinner lately, please go. From the buffet to the “Footnotes” to the top-notch production utilizing a cast of familiar performers, it’s a great evening out.

Please get a group together, suggest to your friends and acquaintances they come, and enjoy what Derby Dinner Playhouse has to offer, particularly during its 35th anniversary year.

— Jim Keith, executive director, Clark-Floyd Counties Convention & Tourism Bureau
