NEWS AND TRIBUNE LETTERS — For Dec. 22-23

Coach Strong wasn’t straight with us

You know what burns my derriere? It isn’t a flame four hands high.

It’s the blatant lie Coach Charlie Strong of U of L told the fans and news media.

Come on, does Coach Strong think we’re a line of practice dummies? There was no touchdown, just financial interference. If Coach Strong were sincere he would have told the fans and media he was fine with his salary and U of L as they were.

How may filet mignons does a coach need in this world of competitive sports today to be actually for the school and betterment of the athletic programs?

It isn’t about the money? Of course, it’s about the money. It always will be about the money.

For once, why can’t coaches everywhere say it instead of spiking the ball in the end zone, which is exactly where the fans get hit when they purchase higher-priced tickets.

— Leroy Heil, Jeffersonville

Reader writes about being thankful

Be thankful of what you have in life, no matter how small and humble it may be.

Keep the spirit of the Lord God in your heart, at all times. And the Lord Himself will be most grateful of you, in many ways.

For He, God, is what it is really all about. Particularly, here on earth, and all of the universe.

To our Lord God, Amen

— Stephen Espy, Jeffersonville
