A Borden woman died in a house fire early Friday morning.
Clark County Coroner Edwin Coots said the deceased is presumed to be 71-year-old Ruth Ann Riley. She lived at the residence and was believed to be the only person home at the time.
A Clark County dispatcher said a call came in about the fire at 1:59 a.m. The Borden-Wood Township Fire Department responded to the single story brick home at 415 W. Main St.
Coots said that an autopsy will be performed today.
“The house was basically destroyed,” he said.
Investigators with the Clark County Sheriff’s Department also were called to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
