FMH flower sale to benefit auxiliary
Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services Auxiliary will be hosting its annual flower sale beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, and continuing until the last flower or plant is sold.
All the flowers, including colorful plants and hanging baskets will be in the main front lobby of the hospital, 1850 State St., New Albany. All proceeds from this sale go toward all the many hospital projects of the auxiliary.

Legion event to benefit Operation Comfort Warriors
The American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28 Family of Four will host a fundraising benefit for Operation Comfort Warriors from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, at the post, 1930 McDonald Lane, New Albany.
The activities include music by 3rd Degree, silent auction, raffles, cash bar and 50/50; donation of $5 is requested at the door. Donations for the silent auction are welcome and appreciated. Contact Jimmy Martin at 812-989-8201.
Operation Comfort Warriors is an American Legion program in which 100 percent of the funds go to assist recovering soldiers with unfunded items that are not available to them while they are recovering in medical care facilities. Those items include sports equipment to aid with range of motion and agility that is the result of loss of limb or paralysis; TVs, magazines, DVD players and video games.

Optimists forming Mini 4-H
The Georgetown Optimist Club is starting a new Optimist 4-H club.
Mini 4-H is for youth in kindergarten through second grade. Regular 4-H is for youth grades 3-12. The 4-H program offers several opportunities.

Make it and take it tonight at library
The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library is hosting the monthly Make It-Take It class featuring heirloom flowerpots at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, in the Applegate Room located on the lower level.
Participants will be asked to bring in snapshots/photographs that will be copied and used in making this craft. To register, call 812-949-3523.
